Localization Photography for Airbnb’s RTL Launch in the Middle East.
A comprehensive visual library supporting Airbnb’s Arabic and Hebrew websites and mobile apps, featuring culturally sensitive imagery aligned with right-to-left (RTL) design principles.
GOAL.
Demonstrate Airbnb’s commitment to the international community by launching localized platforms for Arabic and Hebrew speakers, marking a significant step in global inclusivity.
HOW.
Executed 25 photo shoots across 11 cities with a team of 5 photographers. Managed a tight budget of $5K per shoot within a 2-week sprint. Responsibilities included casting, photo direction, full-scale production, and editing thousands of images optimized for RTL interfaces.
RESULTS.
Successfully captured authentic host photography that reflects the diversity and cultural nuances of the Middle East. The project contributed to Airbnb’s mission of fostering a sense of belonging for over 300 million Arabic and Hebrew speakers globally.
